From The Middle Of The Story

From the middle of the story, it looks chaotic.  So many strands of plot interwoven that it’s impossible to make sense of how they all connect.

In the middle of the story, there are so many questions: Why did that happen?  How will this turn out?  What will the future hold?

The middle of the story can be painful with hurt, sorrow, shattered dreams and unfulfilled longings.

But it can also be beautiful with love, kindness, friendship and courage, as help springs from unlikely places.

In the middle of the story it feels uncertain.  Just when you think you know which way it is heading, an unexpected twist in the plot takes you by surprise- for good or for bad.

From the middle of the story our view is limited.  We see one perspective but we struggle to comprehend the bigger picture.

Sometimes we don’t enjoy the middle of the story.  We wish we could rush through it and skip ahead to the happy ending.

But in the middle of the story there is hope, because the author of the story entered the story to put things right, and one day we will see the story in its entirety and we will understand.

And for now, in the middle of the story, he walks with us, and however chaotic or painful or uncertain it feels, we can rest in the truth that he sees and he cares and we are not alone.
