in his time

Every Sunday throughout this series, I will be sharing a shorter post with a quote and song to reflect on, relating to our theme of Kintsugi.

“Your breakthrough is on the way. Don’t be discouraged if things are not working out right now. God is working it all out behind the scenes. It may not come when you want, but trust that it will be right on time, because our God is an on time God.”   (Germany Kent)

“In his time, in his time,
He makes all things beautiful in his time.

Lord, please show me everyday,
As you’re teaching me your way,
That you do just what you say in your time.”  (Diane Ball)

  1. It’s alo important that you may not recognize your breakthrough, because it’s not the one you want.

I would not have chosen to be writing about dealing with terminal illness, and the receiving end of caregiving, but it’s what seems to be needed, and I am well-qualified to do it in that I can retain a positive attitude through an ordeal that would, I suspect, reduce many to tears, despair, and an abandonment of faith.

That last sounds arrogant, but I think maybe it’s not. No one who sees me really knows how (or WHY) I keep going, and sometimes I wonder, myself.

    1. Thanks, Andrew! I agree, the breakthrough is not always what we want or expect. I don’t think your words are arrogant. I am amazed by how you keep going and your determination and positivity always inspire me.

  2. This is one of my most helpful and hopeful images of God: Him at work behind the scenes in ways I cannot comprehend or even appreciate. I think this takes a kind of faith that is only available as a gift from God Himself.

  3. Hi Lesley! In his time. That’s often a hard concept for me, even when I know that God is faithful. The quote you shared was really a good one, thank you for sharing!
    Sunday blessings,

    1. Thanks, Ceil! I agree, even though we know God is faithful, it is still hard to trust when we can’t understand why his timing is different from ours. Blessings to you too!
