This post is written to link with Five Minute Friday: write for five minutes on a one-word prompt. The prompt today is “beauty.”
Sometimes you have to look for the beauty.
The pain and sorrow, stress and anxiety, tragedy and suffering are easy enough to find. Switch on the TV, click on a news website, look around. You won’t have to search for long.
But the beauty is there amongst it. Sometimes you have to look a bit harder but if you’re willing to seek it is there to be found.
In God’s awe-inspiring creation,
In an unexpected gift from a four year old,
In a friendly bus driver, or a word of encouragement from a friend, in an unexpected kindness or an answered prayer.
Even in the difficulty and the brokenness as we know God’s comfort and presence with us.
“God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NLT)
We may not see the big picture of what God is doing, but there is beauty to be found in the midst of it if we are willing to seek.
Where have you seen beauty this week?
FMF friends, I may not be able to reply to comments or visit many of your posts until Sunday, but I hope you have a lovely weekend and I look forward to catching up then.
