This post is written to link with Five Minute Friday: write for five minutes on a one-word prompt. The prompt today is “with.”
When you step into a new place or situation, it’s always much easier when you’re not alone – when you’re with someone.
We need one another – for support, for encouragement, to laugh with and to cry with.
Of course, as Christians, we can take comfort from the fact that we are never truly alone, that even when we are alone humanly speaking, God is with us, but still there’s huge blessing in human community and walking with one another through the ups and downs of life.
When I began writing, just over three years ago, it felt like something I was doing alone. I had no idea of the community I would find here. Five Minute Friday was where it started for me and, while I have found other communities and other writing friends since then, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
So this Christmas, I want to say thank you for walking with me. Thank you for teaching me and encouraging me.
I’m glad that we are on this writing journey together and I am grateful for you.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and know God’s peace and presence with you!
It is lovely to have such a wonderful writing community!

The blogging community is one unexpected benefit we get from blogging. I had no idea I would meet a network of supportive, generous people when I first began writing.
