More To Explore!

This post is written to link with Five Minute Friday: write for five minutes on a one-word prompt. The prompt today is “explore.”

“He led me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delights in me.” (Psalm 18:19)

This is the verse that inspired my blog title and I love how it reminds me that there is always more to explore of God.

In this spacious place there is always more to learn and more to discover:

More to discover of God as we get to know him more and see him at work.

More to explore in the Bible – no matter how many times I’ve read a particular passage I’m always amazed how it can strike me afresh.

More to discover of God’s calling and how he wants us to take part in his mission on earth.

I’ve been reading in Luke’s Gospel this week and I’ve constantly been struck by how the Pharisees totally missed the point with Jesus because they came with closed minds and fixed ideas about what he was “meant” to do, rather than being open to what he was doing.

Their example is a warning to me. I never want to reach the point of thinking I know it all. When new ideas come, I want to be open to exploring them.

I don’t want to miss what God is doing!

  1. I so agree – “I donโ€™t want to miss what God is doing!” And it was interesting to see how you came to the name of your blog ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. And thus t’will be with cancer,
    there is always more
    leading to the final answer
    that I must now explore.
    Days are being crushed together
    ‘gainst that granite stone,
but this is something I can weather,
    for I am not alone.
The Lord of Love is by my side,
    I’m shielded by bright wing,
and I need not try to hide
    from what this all might bring;
no matter what I need endure,
my hope in Christ is steady, sure.
